Hand Surgery

Hand surgery remains a significant realm within Plastic Surgery due to the finesse required to reconstruct fine detail that exists within the hand to obtain an optimal functional and aesthetic outcome. Sometimes microsurgery is required to achieve best outcome.

Hand conditions I treat range from trauma such as lacerations, fractures and crush injuries to elective procedures for carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease, ganglion, and trigger finger.

If you have had any imaging (xray, CT scan, ultrasound) performed by your General Practitioner or Emergency Department, please bring them with you.

Cost

Initial consultation is $320. The total cost of the procedure is billed at the Australian Medical Association (AMA) recommended schedule. It varies depending on the nature of surgery. You will be given an accurate quote after your first consultation that covers costs for Dr Ho, the anaesthetist and the hospital. All subsequent consultations after the procedure are free of charge.

It is advised to bring a referral as you will likely be eligible for rebates from Medicare and your health fund that will offset a proportion of the costs.
